Gamecocks Get SEC Schedule for 2026-27
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s basketball received its 2026-27 conference schedule from the Southeastern Conference today. The five-time reigning SEC Champion Gamecocks will host four of the league’s top-25 finishers last season and travel to four such teams as well, including Oklahoma, which they will play both at home and on the road.
South Carolina will host Alabama in the league opener for the second-straight season with this season’s matchup coming on New Year’s Eve instead of New Year’s Day. The Gamecocks will go on the road for their next two, beginning with a trip to Final Four participant Texas (Jan. 3).
After a Thursday trip to Mississippi State (Jan. 7), South Carolina will welcome Arkansas (Jan. 10) and Oklahoma (Jan. 14) to Colonial Life Arena. The Gamecocks will split the next two weeks of home and away games, traveling to Missouri (Jan. 17) and Tennessee (Jan. 28) between hosting Florida (Jan. 21) and top-20 finisher Kentucky (Jan. 31).
February will open with a pair of elite road games with South Carolina traveling to Vanderbilt (Feb. 4), which finished in the top 10 last season, and Oklahoma (Feb. 8) to close out that home-and-home series.
A home game against Texas A&M (Feb. 11) will start another split week with the Gamecocks spending a second-straight Valentine’s Day on the road as they travel to top-25 finisher Ole Miss (Feb. 14).
The regular-season home slate will end with a two-game home stand. South Carolina will host Sweet 16 and top-10 finisher LSU (Feb. 21) ahead of hosting Auburn (Feb. 25). The Gamecocks will travel to border rival Georgia (Feb. 28), which played in the 2026 NCAA Tournament, to wrap up the SEC slate.
The 2027 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament is set for Mar. 3-7 at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C.
The Gamecocks’ non-conference schedule along with tipoff times and television information for all its 2026-27 games will be announced at a later date.
South Carolina has won 10 SEC regular-season titles over the last 13 seasons, including each of the last five, and has not been outside the top two in that stretch. Head coach Dawn Staley is 229-56 in SEC play with just three losses over the last five seasons, and her .800 league winning percentage is second only to Tennessee’s Pat Summitt (.874) in league history among coaches with more than five seasons in the league. Her 229 conference wins are the most among active league coaches and third all-time, trailing just Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame inductees Andy Landers (Georgia, 273) and Summitt (Tennessee, 306).
