Softball Secures Nation’s No. 3 Ranked Transfer Class
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina softball team and head coach Ashley Chastain Woodard added the No. 3 ranked transfer class according to 64 Analytics ahead of the 2027 season. The eight student-athletes joining the Gamecocks are: Brooke Bennett, Bella Foran, Irianis Garcia, Kaytlin Greenwood, Kristin Griffin, Jacy Harrelson, Saviya Morgan, and Morgan Sharpe.
“We are excited to welcome this transfer class to South Carolina,” Woodard said. “As a staff, we really enjoyed getting to know each of these players and their families during the portal season. These players bring valuable winning experience, toughness, and a proven track record of success at their previous intuitions that we feel will translate well to our system and the SEC. They understand what it takes to compete at a high level, and we are confident they will make an immediate impact while we strive to take the next step elevate our program.”
Brooke Bennett – C
A junior catcher from Crestwood, Kentucky, Bennett played two seasons at Longwood. In 2026 she was named to the NFCA All-Region Second Team. She was a two-time All-Big South First Team selection. In 2026, she had a team-leading nine home runs, 10 doubles, 52 hits, 34 RBIs and a .595 slugging percentage. She was second on the team with a .340 batting average, a .433 on-base percentage and a 1.028 OPS. She tallied nine multiple-hit games and seven multiple-RBI games. Bennett had a team-high seven-game RBI streak. Against North Carolina Central, she had a season-high four hits and five RBIs. Defensively, she picked off five runners from behind the plate. She finished the year fourth in Division I, throwing out 17 base runners stealing.
Bella Foran – OF
A junior outfielder from Hoover, Alabama, Foran spent her first two years at Florida Atlantic. Most recently she won a gold medal while playing with the Puerto Rico National Team at the Central American and Caribbean Games. In 2026 she won the Rawlings Gold Glove Award®, presented by the NFCA for left field. Foran was named to the NFCA All-Region Third Team in each of her first two seasons. She was the top defensive left fielder in the nation in 2026, recording 146 putouts and six assists. She was FAU’s leadoff hitter, batting .342 with 40 hits and 40 runs. As a freshman she was named a D1Softball Freshman All-American, becoming the first Freshman All-American in program history. In addition to being named to the NFCA All-Region Third Team, she was named to the Preseason NFCA Freshman Top 25 Watch List. Foran was also selected to the AAC Second Team All-Conference and named to the AAC All-Conference Freshman Team.
Irianis Garcia – INF
Garcia is a junior infielder from St. Petersburg, Florida who previously played at Stetson. She was named to the ASUN All-Tournament Team in both 2025 and 2026. Last season she was named Second Team All-ASUN after batting .378 with 73 hits including 15 doubles, and 11 home runs. She also had a slugging percentage of .637. Garcia set a single-season Stetson record in 2026 with 54 runs score. She led Division I with 167 assists while playing shortstop. Against West Georgia, Garcia became the first Stetson player to hit two home runs in the same inning and broke the program record for RBIs in an inning with six. She has a career batting average of .358 with 92 hits, 71 runs, and 18 doubles.
Kaytlin Greenwood – INF
A senior from Columbia, South Carolina, Greenwood is an infielder who helped start the program at Wofford. In three seasons with the Terriers, she left as the all-time program leader in career games (153), runs (79), doubles (20), and sacrifice hits (23). She led the team in 2026 with a program record 39 runs scored. Greenwood was second on the team in hits (52), doubles (12), home runs (3), RBIs (34), total bases (75), stolen bases (20). In 54 games at shortstop, she ranked 29th in the nation with 128 assists. She was named the SoCon Player of the Week on May 4. Greenwood reached 100 career hits against Western Carolina on May 1. She was also named to the 2024 SoCon All-Freshman Team.
Kristin Griffin – OF
A senior outfielder from Greer, South Carolina, Griffin most recently played for Lincoln Memorial. She was named the South Atlantic Conference All-Tournament and was an All-SAC First Team selection. She led the team in eight different categories with a 1.080 OPS, .600 slugging percentage, .460 on-base, 40 RBIs, 12 hit by pitches, seven home runs, four sacrifice flies, and two triples. Griffin was also second on the team with a .347 batting average, 43 runs scored, 23 walks, 13 doubles, and 10 stolen bases. She finished the year with 14 multi-hit games including three, three-hit games. She also had 11 multi-RBI games, four three-RBI games, and one four-RBI game. She had a career-best 15-game on-base and hitting streak.
Jacy Harrelson – P
A junior right-handed pitcher from Warner Robbins, Georgia, Harrelson was named the 2026 ASUN Pitcher of the Year at Jacksonville. She was also named to the NFCA All-Region Third Team. In the circle, she went 22-8 with two saves and a 2.46 ERA. Her 22 victories ranked second all-time in Jacksonville history. She tossed 188 innings with 36 appearances and 32 games started, pitching 14 complete games including a shutout. She finished the year with 127 strikeouts while allowing a .221 opponent batting average. She tossed a complete game, three-hit shutout against North Florida on April 29. Harrelson threw an 8-inning complete game win over Stetson (4/25), allowing one run on four hits with nine strikeouts. She surrendered only one hit in seven innings against DePaul on February 27.
Saviya Morgan – OF
Morgan is a junior outfielder from Columbia, Tennessee, and spent the last two seasons at Tennessee. Over those two seasons, she appeared in 98 games and made 69 starts. She is a career .330 batter with 66 career hits and 19 RBIs. As a sophomore she batted .257 over 33 games. She brought home the game-winning run in a walk-off win over Ole Miss on March 29. As a freshman, she started 59 games for Tennessee. In 2025 she led the team with 25 stolen bases and was second on the team with a .340 batting average and 48 runs scored. She also added 54 hits and 14 RBIs.
Morgan Sharpe – INF
A senior from Chattanooga, Tennessee, Sharpe is an infielder who spent three seasons at Western Kentucky. She was twice named to the All-Conference USA Second Team (2024 and 2026). She was also named to the All-Conference USA Freshman Team in 2024. In three seasons with the Hilltoppers, she started all 159 games and hit .339 with 31 doubles. Sharpe has recorded at least 53 hits in each of her first three seasons. In 53 games last season she had a .369 batting average while collecting 59 hits in 160 at-bats. Sharpe recorded 18 doubles on the year, second all-time in WKU history. She drove in 32 runs and was second on the team with 41 runs scored. She stole seven bases and finished the year with a .420 on-base percentage and a .588 slugging percentage.
