Two Chances to See Gamecock Volleyball in Action This Week

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina women’s volleyball team kicks off the 2026 schedule this weekend with preseason action, welcoming Georgia Southern for a 5:00 p.m. exhibition match on Friday, Aug. 14 before hosting their annual Garnet & Black intrasquad scrimmage on Sunday, Aug. 16 at 1:00 p.m.

Admission to both matches is free. At the Garnet & Black scrimmage, VIP members will have the opportunity to select their reserved seat for the season and pick up their membership card. For the first time, there will be a four-tier system available for VIP fans – each level with behind-the-scenes benefits, discounts and giveaways.

The 2026 South Carolina volleyball team consists of eight returners and 10 newcomers: five true freshman and five transfers. Head coach Sarah Rumely Noble returns for her second season alongside Connor Zimmick who was promoted to associate head coach earlier this year, Chanelle Hargreaves who added recruiting coordinator to her assistant coach title, and assistant coach Christian Rupert who rounds out the coaching staff.

The Gamecocks went 10-16 last season which included upsets of two No. 25 ranked teams, North Carolina and SEC foe Florida.
