Recipients of 2026-27 Endowed Scholarships Announced
COLUMBIA, S.C. – University of South Carolina Athletics announced today the recipients of 28 endowed scholarships across seven sports and the cheer team. Recipients for endowed scholarships are selected each year by the team’s head coach or department head.
The 2026-27 recipients of endowed scholarships are:

From the baseball team, sophomore JD Stein joins the Gamecocks after spending his freshman season at Wake Forest, where he had 10 doubles and 41 RBI for the Demon Deacons. Fifth-year senior Garrett Michel had a .277 batting average with 12 doubles and 20 RBI for Arizona State in 2026. Colby Richardson made 27 appearances out of the bullpen for Coastal Carolina last year, going 4-1 with 36 strikeouts in 42.1 innings pitched. Brice Estep played in 43 games for Coastal Carolina his junior season, belting eight home runs and driving in 25 runs for the Chanticleers. Hayden Johnson missed the 2026 season due to injury at Coastal Carolina, but he had a 5-0 record with 55 strikeouts in helping the Chanticleers to a 2025 NCAA College World Series runner-up finish. Luke Jones made 16 appearances on the mound for Coastal Carolina his sophomore season, going 4-2 in 79 innings pitched. Patrick Evans played in 52 games for the Gamecocks this past season, scoring 25 runs with eight home runs and 20 RBI. Andrew Koshy pitched in 25 games for Maryland in 2026, posting a 2-1 record with 42 strikeouts in 44.2 innings pitched. Daniel Parker made 19 appearances for Coastal Carolina his freshman season in 2026, going 3-0 with 32 strikeouts in 34 innings pitched. Walker Cox had a 2.02 ERA in 34.2 innings pitched with 48 strikeouts in his senior season at Easley High School in Easley, South Carolina. Hughes Elvington has been a manager for three seasons and is a business management major from Mullins, South Carolina.
Caden Weeks is a senior from St. George, S.C., majoring in integrated information technology with a minor in sports and entertainment management. He is entering his fourth season with the men’s basketball team as a team manager and has made the President’s List in five of his six semesters in college.
Women’s basketball junior forward Adhel Tac played in 23 games in an injury-riddled 2025-26 campaign that still saw her serve as a motivating force on the team. She had key performances at #16/16 Oklahoma and against #4/4 Texas in January, finishing the season with career-best scoring and rebounding averages with 3.1 points and 3.4 boards per game. Junior forward Joyce Edwards was the team’s top scorer last season, capturing All-America and first-team All-SEC honors for the second time in as many seasons. She set program records for points, 20-point games, 10-point games, minutes played, games started and games played in a season. She was 30th in the nation with 19.2 points per game and 20th in field goal percentage at .571 in addition to top-15 SEC rankings in rebounding (6.8 rpg), offensive boards (2.9), steals (1.8 spg) and blocks (1.1 bpg).
For football, offensive lineman Seth Smith joined the Gamecocks for his final year of eligibility in 2026 after five seasons at Northern Arizona where he played in 31 games with 25 starts. Junior quarterback LaNorris Sellers has a 12-12 record as a starter with four 300-yard passing games and two 100-yard rushing contests while completing 63.4 percent of his career passes. Senior tight end Maurice Brown began his career as a walk-on and, three years later, has appeared in 36 games with three career receptions, including one for a touchdown. In his second season at South Carolina, senior defensive lineman Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy has played in 20 career games, including 12 last season, and has 22 career tackles with 3.5 of them for loss. Senior Nyck Harbor has 24 starts among his 36 games played with 68 catches for 1,189 yards and 10 touchdowns. Reserve linebacker Jamian Risher Jr. opens his fourth season with the Gamecocks in 2026. Third-year offensive lineman Jake Recker earned a scholarship this spring after two seasons as a walk-on. Grad student Brady Hunt is back for his third season with the Gamecocks after playing in 22 games with 23 receptions in the previous two seasons. He earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in 2025.
Women’s golf senior Vairana Heck is coming off a season in which she posted a scoring average of 71.86 with seven top-20 finishes in 10 tournaments, including a win at the Shootout at Wachesaw. For her career, she has compiled 16 top-20 finishes with four top-10 placements. She has a career scoring average of 73.03 through three seasons with the Gamecocks. A two-time Second Team All-SEC selection, Heck enters her senior season fresh off a pair of Honorable Mention All-American honors during the 2025-26 season.
For men’s soccer, junior midfielder Kieran Karp appeared in five matches last season and recorded an assist against Winthrop. He was named to the Sun Belt Commissioner’s List and the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll. Senior midfielder Mika Habel scored three goals and had two assists a season ago, both of which were third on the team. He was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
Track and field junior Devan Crumpton is coming off his best collegiate season in which he helped guide the Gamecock’s 4x400m relay squad to an indoor national title, the first men’s 4×400 meter indoor relay title in school history. He earned a spot on the First Team All-American squad during the indoor season and was able to follow that up with a Second Team All-American appearance during the outdoor season as an individual in the men’s 400m. Crumpton combined to compete in 15 meets during his sophomore season, finding himself in the Top 10 record book on six different occasions. The South Carolina native was part of the indoor 4x400m relay squad that ran the second fastest time in collegiate history, clocking a program record 3:00.86 to win the Tiger Paw Invitational.
