Men's Soccer Ranked No. 13 in United Soccer Coaches Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time since October of 2016, the South Carolina men’s soccer team was ranked in the newest United Soccer Coaches rankings releases Tuesday (Sept. 1).

The Gamecocks enter the poll at No. 13, the highest ranking of any program in the Sun Belt Conference. Carolina also begins the week No. 5 in the Top Drawer Soccer poll and No. 20 by College Soccer News.

South Carolina went 2-0 on the week, taking down USC Upstate 4-0 and No. 16 Clemson 3-2. The win over the Tigers is Carolina’s first since 2014 and it is also the first 3-0 start for the Gamecocks since 2014.

It is the highest South Carolina has been ranked during the season in the United Soccer Coaches poll since being tied for 11th in October of 2006.

The Gamecocks return to the pitch September 3 when they travel to No. 25 Charlotte at 7 p.m.
