Gamecocks Return to Action Sunday at J.T. Poston Invitational

WAYNESVILLE, N.C. – South Carolina men’s golf is back in action starting this Sunday at the J.T. Poston Invitational (Sept. 13-15). It marks the third all-time appearance for the Gamecocks in the event and first since the fall of 2021.

Carolina won the event that year and finished runner-up in 2019. The Gamecocks shot the lowest 54-hole score in program history in their tournament debut in 2019 with a 46-under, 806 total (277-264-265).

The event has moved from The Country Club of Sapphire Valley to Waynesville Inn and Golf Club, which has hosted the event the last three years on the North Carolina side of the Great Smoky Mountains.

Sophomore Talan Harrison has the top spot in the lineup this week. He’s joined by junior Marek Fleming, freshman Tjelle Rieger, fifth-year Ismael Encinas and freshman Tom De Herrypon. Encinas returns to the lineup for the first time since the Fallen Oak Invitiatonal last fall. He missed the spring portion of the season with a back injury.

Senior Brock Blais, senior Bo Carpenter and sophomore August Petersson will play as individuals this week.

Clippd will have live scoring for the event all 54-holes here.
