Men’s Tennis Splits Tournaments to Begin 2026 Fall Season

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina men’s tennis team begins the 2026 fall schedule this weekend, sending two Gamecocks to the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma from Sept. 19-27. The remaining players are slated to stay in Columbia and compete in the ITF 15K tournament.

The 2026 ITA Men’s All-American Championships will feature the following draw sizes: Singles Pre-Qualifying (160), Qualifying (64) and Main Draw (64); Doubles Pre-Qualifying (32), Qualifying (32) and Main Draw (32). Through the All-American Championships, 10 singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship, including the eight main draw quarterfinalists and two feed-in consolation finalists. In doubles, five teams will earn berths to the NCAA Doubles Championship, with four spots awarded to the main draw semifinalists and one to the consolation champion.

All Americans will begin with pre-qualifying competition on Saturday, Sept. 19, followed by qualifying rounds beginning Monday, Sept. 21, and main draw action beginning Wednesday, Sept. 23. Redshirt sophomore Paul Barbier Gazeu will compete in the main draw singles while Charlie Robertson is set to debut as a Gamecock in the qualifying singles round. The two Gamecocks will also pair up for main draw doubles action.

At the ITF 15K tournament, Charlie Swaine, Gabe Avram and Sean Daryabeigi will compete in the main draw for singles while Cole Henceroth, Atakan Karahan, Max Stenzer, Billy Moxon and Antonin Witz will compete in the qualifying round, in addition to doubles action. Draws for the event will be released at a later date.

Three of the returning Gamecocks reached All-American status last season; Daryabeigi and Stenzer qualified in doubles and Barbier Gazeu qualified in singles.

South Carolina enters the fall campaign with three players ranked among the nation’s top 105 in singles listed in the ITA preseason poll, led by Barbier Gazeu at No. 34, Daryabeigi at No. 41 and Robertson at No. 105.
