Gamecocks Host Second Edition of Bryan Bros Collegiate Monday

Strong field this week with a trio of SEC teams set to compete alongside South Carolina at Solina Golf Club
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina host the second addition of the Bryan Bros Collegiate on Monday at Solina Golf Club in partnership with Bluebird Golf Management and former standout alums, brothers George IV and Wesley Bryan.
George played for the Gamecocks from 2006-10 where he was a three-time All-American and two-time First Team All-SEC selection. He helped lead the Gamecocks to the NCAA West Regional Title in 2007 and is one of four players in program history to earn All-America status three times. Wesley played for Carolina from 2008-12, winning twice in college and earning All-SEC honors in 2010. As a professional in 2016, he went on to win three times en route to being named Web.com Tour Player of the Year (now Korn Ferry Tour). In his first full season on the PGA TOUR in 2017, he became the first native South Carolinian to win the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town. In 134 career PGA TOUR starts, Bryan made 68 cuts (50.7%) with nine top-10 finishes and five top-fives.
It’s a strong field this week with a trio of other SEC programs teeing it up alongside Carolina. No. 17 LSU returns as defending champions with No. 13 Arkansas and Ole Miss set to make their tournament debuts. Clemson returns to the event for the second consecutive season. Michigan and Louisville will also be playing this week making their tournament debuts.
Carolina finished fourth in the inaugural tournament last year in rainy conditions with Marek Fleming leading the way with a T-7th finish after shooting 206 (-7) over the course of three rounds. The junior from Tomball, Texas has the top spot in the lineup. Fleming is joined by sophomore Talan Harrison, freshman Tjelle Rieger, senior Brock Blais and freshman Tom De Herrypon. The other four players on the roster, fifth year Ismael Encinas, senior Bo Carpenter, sophomore August Petersson and freshman Arrow Shah, will compete as indivduals this week. Shah will be making his collegiate debut.
The team is fresh off a comeback victory at the J.T. Poston Invitational fueled by a recording-setting performance from Rieger. He shot 197 (-16) to earn runner-up medalist honors and fired a program record 62 (-9) in the final round to help lead the Gamecocks to the win.
Clippd will have live scoring for the event all 54-holes here.
Carolina will be paired with LSU, North Florida and College of Charleston the opening 36 holes on Monday. De Herrypon will be the first player off for the Gamecocks at 8 a.m. (ET) from hole one.
