Matt Pepin

Matt Pepin is in his first season as the general manager/director of analytics at South Carolina.

Pepin served as the Director of Analytics for Coastal Carolina, where he played a key role in advancing the program’s use of data and technology to enhance player development and game strategy. He worked closely with the coaching staff to provide advanced metrics, video breakdowns, and performance insights that give the Chanticleers a competitive edge.

In the summer of 2024, Pepin was selected to join head coach Gary Gilmore’s staff as the bench coach for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Summer Tour, furthering his experience on the national stage and showcasing his ability to contribute at the highest level of college baseball.

A Coastal Carolina graduate, Pepin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Sport Management in 2024. As a student, he served as the program’s Analytics & Video Coordinator, where he built a foundation in player evaluation, scouting, and technology integration that shaped his role today.
