2018 (SENIOR)

  • Battled nagging injuries throughout the season, but managed to play in 14 matches (one start vs. Clemson on 8/31)… striker who finished the season with seven shots and two shots on goal… scored his first and only points of the year with a spectacular, diving goal in the first half vs. No. 7 Kentucky (9/29)… played a season-high 70 minutes and managed two shots in the team’s comeback, 2-1 OT win at No. 19 Virginia Tech (10/1)… named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District 4 Team and the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.

2017 (JUNIOR)

  • A preseason All-C-USA selection, was forced to sit out the entire season due to a hip injury… named to SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll as well as the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll. 

2016 (SOPHOMORE)

  • Saw action in 19 matches, making eight starts… earned Second Team All-Conference USA honors after leading the team with eight goals… his eight scores ranked sixth in C-USA, while his .421 goals per game average ranked fifth in the league… the eight goals came on just 20 shots… didn’t score until the eighth game of the season when he poured in two goals in the team’s 3-1 home win over High Point (9/28)… scored again in the next game vs. Marshall (10/2), helping Carolina to a 2-1 victory… his performance earned him his first C-USA Offensive Player of the Week honors… scored his first goal on the road in the team’s 3-2 win at Old Dominion (10/22)… scored in four consecutive contests (vs. Charlotte (10/26), at New Mexico (10/30), vs. No. 12 Kentucky (11/4) and vs. Old Dominion (11/9)) after that… received C-USA Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time the final week of the regular season after scoring in the first goal in the team’s 2-1 upset over No. 12 Kentucky on Senior Night… was the only player in the conference to earn multiple offensive player of the week honors… earned a spot on the C-USA and SEC Academic Honor Rolls for the second straight year.

2015 (FRESHMAN)

  • Started the first two matches of the season and played in 16 … Scored two goals and one assist … Suffered an injury at No. 9 Clemson (9/4) that cost him a month of playing time … Did have a season-high three shots and 64 minutes against the Tigers … Returned in a big way with the game-winner off the bench at Marshall (10/2) … Assisted on the game-winning goal in the victory against No. 13 Old Dominion … His 78th-minute goal ranked as the game-winner in the first-round win in the Conference USA Tournament over New Mexico (11/11) … Gained placement on the C-USA Commissioner’s and the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Rolls.

PRE-COLLEGE

  • The top scorer for his Njardvik team in 2014 … Played handball as a youth, playing at the national team level on the Icelandic U15, U16 and U17 teams.

PERSONAL

  • Son of Gudjon Leifsson and Audur Bjornsdottir … Has three brothers, Baldur, Leifur and Arnor … graduated with a finance degree in December 2018.
