Jody Davidson

Jody Davidson was named an assistant coach on June 17, 2024.

Davidson spent five years on staff as Charlotte, three as an assistant coach and two years as a volunteer assistant coach. He helped the 49ers to the program’s first conference tournament championship in 2024. Charlotte advanced to NCAA Regionals twice during his time there. His coaching was key in Bailey Vannoy being named a two-time Conference USA Player of the Year and an NFCA Second Team All-American. In 2024, he guided outfielder Abigail Knight earn NFCA All-Region Third Team honors.

He is no stranger to SEC as Davidson was the director of softball operations at Ole Miss for four years (2016-19) and a manager for two years (2014-15). At Ole Miss, Davidson oversaw all the administrative and video coordination operations for the Rebels, where he worked alongside Chastain. He was with the Rebels for a pair of NCAA Super Regionals (2017 and 2019) and their 2017 SEC Tournament Championship.

After Ole Miss set the program record for wins with 43 in 2017, the Rebels’ coaching staff was named the NFCA South Region Coaching Staff of the Year. That season Ole Miss set numerous offensive single-season records.

A native of Bartlett, Tenn., he received both his B.B.A. in managerial finance (2014) and B.B.A. in economics (2015) from Ole Miss.
