The Future of Williams-Brice Stadium
The University of South Carolina Board of Trustees officially approved the Request for Proposal (RFP) process to retain an architecture firm to design the initial phase in a transformational enhancement of Williams-Brice Stadium on October 25, 2024. The approval comes after a year of development of a master plan for Williams-Brice Stadium in partnership between the Department of Athletics and the University.
One of the concepts for Phase 1 would involve significant improvements to West Premium and Club areas of Williams-Brice Stadium. The below rendering from our feasibility study shows what the renovated areas could look like (concepts only).

The Board of Trustees’ approval today comes after a year-long process of consultation and input with Nations Group, one of the nation’s leading stadium development experts; a widely distributed market survey and resulting analysis by Elevate, a leader in stadium and premium seating; and comprehensive financial modeling by USC staff.
The project will initially focus on the design of the West and East Side of the stadium. Included in the initial plans are premium suites of varying sizes and the installation of club seats. Gamecock Club Development Staff will begin to engage with potential suite purchasers immediately.

New Williams-Brice Stadium Suites
A major component of Phase 1 of the Williams-Brice Stadium project is renovating and expanding the suite offerings. Currently, South Carolina ranks last in total suites within the SEC and this project will start to bridge that gap. The current renderings include 30 Traditional Suites and 6 Founders Suites within the new Premium and Suite Levels. The revenues generated from these suites will help drive the future of Gamecock Athletics.

Potential Future Phases of the project
While Phase 1 focuses on the West Premium and Club areas along with the East Side of Williams-Brice Stadium, we are actively looking at future phases that will include other areas of the Stadium. The feasibility study included design concepts for the following areas:
- Improved Concessions & Restrooms throughout the stadium
- West Ground Level Concourse
- North End Zone Seating & Amenities
- Additional Loge Seating
- Terrace Deck Social Spaces
- Other operational improvements
