On-Campus Support
Through the Gamecock NIL department, South Carolina has on-campus support available to all student-athletes. Gamecock NIL staff are located on the 3rd floor of the Rice Athletics Center. This dedicated team in available to help student-athletes navigate the NIL space including but not limited to: connecting with brands and businesses, how to build your brand, questions to ask when reviewing an NIL offer and how to start maximizing your NIL. Educational Resources
Gamecock NIL maintains an extensive library of educational materials for student-athletes. As the landscape evolves and needs change, Gamecock NIL will continue to add to its education resources. If you have questions or need specific resources, please contact Joe Shepard at joe.shepard@sc.edu.
NIL Go
All NCAA Division I student-athletes must report third-party NIL deals with compensation that equals or exceed $600 (including contracts or payments with the potential to meet or exceed $600 via payment structures such as royalties, commissions, or bonuses) to NIL Go. Compensation includes both direct payments and other benefits such as vehicles, gym memberships, equipment, etc. If you have questions on disclosures, please contact Joe Shepard at joe.shepard@sc.edu.
Use of Gamecock Branding (Trademark & Licensing)
Gamecock student-athletes must request use of intellectual property, including but not limited to official logos, marks, colors, by using the NIL Use of Marks Request Form and submitting the form as indicated on the request form. The form must be submitted no later than five (5) business days prior to the NIL activity. Any request submitted after this deadline shall be denied. The completed request form should be submitted to Joe Shepard at joe.shepard@sc.edu.
