WILLIAMS-BRICE REIMAGINED

WHERE TRADITION MEETS TOMORROW

For nine decades, Williams-Brice Stadium has given rise to legends. Forged from concrete and time, history echoes through its walls.

And today…we’re excited to announce that we have received formal state approval to begin a multi-year construction project that will reimagine Williams-Brice Stadium and take the tradition that originates from its core into the world of tomorrow.

This is Williams-Brice Reimagined.

The Williams-Brice Reimagined project is rooted in four key pillars:

For All This project is not just for a subset of Gamecock Fans. During the reimagination of Williams-Brice Stadium, our department and partners will focus on creating an enhanced game day experience that will build lasting memories for present and future generations with inspiring admiration from visiting fans.

Legacy & Tradition This project will focus on the history of Williams-Brice Stadium and what it means to be a Gamecock. It will bridge the nostalgia and tradition of the past, while creating enthusiasm for the future.

Home This project will create a place of belonging that brings fans together and fosters South Carolinian camaraderie.

Pride of the State This project is more than just a football stadium, it will create a year round venue that highlights the beauty and culture of South Carolina.

This project will focus on three key areas for reimagination:

  • Overall Fan Experience
  • Premium Offerings
  • Student-Athlete Experience

Why renovate now?

In July 2024, Gamecock Athletics partnered with Elevate to conduct a widely distributed market survey and resulting analysis. From the survey sent to our fan base, nearly every responded (94%) believes that upgrading Williams-Brice Stadium is important. The market survey also showed that Williams-Brice Stadium ranks last among SEC peers in premium percentage and last in number of suites.

In addition to the Elevate study, our architectural firm Populous has done a larger analysis of our restroom counts, square footage space per fan, point of sale systems and other operation flow studies. Their results have shown that multiple areas do not have the proper amenities to provide a first class fan experience to those that attend events at Williams-Brice Stadium.
