One of the four key pillars of the Williams-Brice Reimagined project is FOR ALL. This project is not just for a subset of Gamecock fans. Through our extensive market survey and analysis of current offerings we have established the goal that this project is for all Gamecock fans and it should create lasting memories for present and future generations.
As part of the reimagination of the overall fan experience, this project will touch on four key areas of improvement
- Stadium Circulation – how fans move around the stadium
- Concessions – Improvements that provide more offerings and quicker service
- Restrooms – Increasing the number to reduce wait times
- The Cockpit – Improving the overall student experience and providing more amenities to current University of South Carolina students
This project will also provide much needed improvements to our back-of-house operations including new kitchens, storage and work spaces to allow us to provide higher levels of customer service to our fan base.
Stadium Circulation
One important component of this project is making it easier for our fans to get around Williams-Brice Stadium.
As part of the project, elevators, escalators and stairwells will be added to replace both south ramps and make room for new club spaces. These additions will allow more fans to move vertically throughout the stadium more efficiently
The West Main and West Upper Concourse will be expanded out towards Bluff Road to increase the square foot per person. This increase in space will allow for easier flow for fans as well as additional restrooms and concession stands.
A North 100-Level Concourse will be created that will connect both north ramps together to allow fans to easily move from the east and west sides of the stadium. This space will also include standing room views of the field.
As part of the project, a loading dock will also be constructed in the south east corner of the stadium (where the ramp currently exists). This will allow Williams-Brice Stadium to more easily become a year round venue by providing easier access to the field for concerts and other large-scale events.
Concessions Upgrades
We are reimagining the way we think about concessions on the West Main and East Ground Concourses to ensure our fans don’t miss any of the action on the field. Both concourses will see new Marketplace Grab-n-Go concessions stands. The Grab-n-Go stands will increase the speed at which fans progress through the line but also allow for more efficient operations for concessions staff. Additional portables will still be placed throughout the stadium to provide additional offerings for our fans.
To help ensure food is fresh and delivered in a timely manner, additional kitchen space, including a large scale commercial kitchen, will be constructed in the stadium.
Restroom Upgrades
Through the analysis that Populus has done on our current restroom offerings, both the West Main and East Ground Concourses do not have adequate restrooms to properly serve our fan base. The majority of the existing restrooms on both the West Main and East Ground Concourses will be demolished with new larger restrooms being constructed to provide the industry standard for our fan base.
The Cockpit Upgrades
The Cockpit provides the spark for our entire stadium and through this reimagination, students will see significant improvements to their game day experience. Currently, there is 1.5 square foot per person of concourse space for students. Once all renovations are done, it will increase to approximately 5 square feet per person. To make room for these improvements, the Floyd building will be demolished, but the videoboard and it’s existing support structure will remain.
The largest improvement students will see will be the expansion of the concourse to allow for significant increase in amenities offered to students. This new concourse area will feature a ground level with permanent concessions and new restrooms as well as space for students to socialize. In later years of the reimagination, an additional 100-level concourse will be constructed connecting the north east and north west ramps together at the top of the student section. The 100-level concourse space will provide access to additional restrooms and concessions stands as well as standing room only space to watch the game.
All floor plans and renderings shown are updates as of 8/26/25. Final floor plans and designs may change as the construction project progresses.
