Sophomore Niece Curry is this week’s nominee for SEC Player of the Week. The
Kalamazoo, Mich. native averaged 4.75 kills/game and had a .500 hitting percentage.
Curry led the USC charge this weekend as the Gamecocks rallied in both matches to come from behind against LSU and Arkansas.
In the Arkansas match, she recorded 17 kills and only 1 error to lead the team in hitting with a .432 hitting percentage. Against LSU, she became the first South Carolina player to break the 20-kill mark this season, with 21. Her 7 blocks against Arkansas was a career high until she recorded a new career high, 9 in the match against LSU. Curry also set a new season and career high in hitting when she recorded a .581 percentage against LSU.
