Radio Affiliates
Gamecock Sports Properties, a partnership between the University of South Carolina Athletics Department and the country’s leaders in the collegiate sports marketing industry, LEARFIELD, is the originating medium for radio coverage of the South Carolina Gamecocks.
2023 is the seventh year of a 10-year extension between the University and LEARFIELD that runs through 2026. The extension adds to an agreement between the University of South Carolina and LEARFIELD that dates back to 2003. 2023 also marks the second year of a five-year extension with Cumulus Media for WNKT-FM (107.5 The Game) to continue as the official flagship station of Gamecock Athletics.
Gamecock Sports Properties is responsible for the overall management of the athletics program’s corporate partnership effort, which includes producing, selling and distributing the Gamecock Radio Network (live play-by-play and call-in shows) and coaches television shows, print advertising in various athletics department publications, and selected signage in university athletic facilities.
The Gamecock Sports Network from LEARFIELD counts two dozen affiliate stations for the 2023-24 season. For Sirius/XM subscribers, follow the Gamecock Radio Twitter page for weekly updates on channel information for Gamecock broadcasts.

Todd Ellis - Play-by-Play, Football
Host, “Carolina Calls with Shane Beamer” & “The Shane Beamer Show” (TV)
The all-time leading passer in Gamecock history and the school’s winningest quarterback, Todd Ellis has served as the “Voice of the Gamecocks” for football since 2003. Previously, Ellis served as the sideline reporter for the radio network and has also worked as a color analyst and broadcaster for Comcast Sports Southeast telecasts of South Carolina football. Ellis has also hosted the coaches’ television show and served on CBS’s bowl game radio coverage. Ellis re-wrote the school’s passing records during his Gamecock career (1986-1989), setting more than 20 records and throwing for 9,953 yards.

Tommy Suggs - Color Analyst, Football
Tommy Suggs, a former standout Gamecock quarterback, is in his fourth decade as a member of South Carolina’s football radio coverage. Suggs played for Carolina from 1968-1970 and is regarded as one of the school’s all-time premier signal callers. He led the Gamecocks to the 1969 ACC Championship and a Peach Bowl berth, and was named MVP of the 1970 Blue-Gray All-Star Classic. Suggs was inducted into the University’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 1989. He has also been instrumental in leading fundraising efforts for South Carolina.

Chet Tucker - Sideline Reporter, Football
Chet Tucker was in his first season as the Gamecocks’ sideline reporter for the 2023 season.
Tucker is not new to Carolina Football, having served as a co-host for the network’s pregame and postgame shows along with Chris Miller, during the 2022 season, a role he will continue with in 2023. In addition, the Gamecock alum was a placekicker/punter on the Carolina football squad in the late 1990s, including a stint as the starting placekicker at the end of the 1998 season while playing for head coach Brad Scott.

Derek Scott - Play-by-Play, Men’s Basketball & Baseball
Derek Scott took over as the voice of Gamecock men’s basketball and baseball in October 2016 and is also a senior account executive for Gamecock IMG Sports Marketing. Since 2007, Scott has served as a television (Gamecock Athletics-produced games on SEC Network Plus) and radio play-by-play voice for various Gamecock teams, including men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and volleyball. He has also been the host of Gamecock Athletics’ weekly show, “Inside the Roost,” highlighting the programs of the Carolina athletics department.

Casey Manning - Color Analyst, Basketball
The analyst for South Carolina basketball since 1994, Casey Manning attended South Carolina from 1969-1973 and earned a varsity letter for the legendary Frank McGuire from 1971-1973. He was a member of Carolina’s ACC Tournament Championship team in 1970-1971, as well as the state player of the year at Dillon H.S. in Dillon, S.C., in 1969. Manning is currently a Circuit Court Judge for the state of South Carolina, having served in that capacity since April 1994. Manning is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and is a past president of the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame.

Stuart Lake - Color Analyst, Baseball
Stuart Lake is in his first full year calling Gamecock Baseball. He has filled in both on the radio and on SEC Network Plus broadcasts the past two seasons. Lake currently works as an assistant director of development in the Gamecock Club, Carolina’s fundraising arm. Lake was an assistant coach for the Gamecocks for 11 years in two different stints, from 1999-2002 and from 2017-21. He was the head coach at Charleston Southern from 2009-16 and was an assistant coach at The Citadel, Ole Miss and College of Charleston.

Brad Muller - Play-by-Play, Women’s Basketball & Softball
Brad Muller has been the radio voice of South Carolina women’s basketball since the 2007-2008 season and hosts the Dawn Staley television show. He currently serves as the Director of Content for South Carolina Athletics and also broadcasts selected home games on SEC Network+ for South Carolina women’s soccer and softball. Originally from Stamford, CT, Muller graduated from Carolina in 1992 with a degree in Broadcasting from the College of Journalism Mass Communications. Following graduation, Muller worked one year in news at WVOC radio in Columbia before spending 13 years in Milledgeville, Ga., as the play-by-play voice of Georgia College & State University.
Carolina Calls
The weekly Carolina Calls show will air Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. on the flagship station of the Gamecocks, WNKT-FM, across the Palmetto state on the Gamecock Radio Network and over the Internet at Gamecock All-Access. The show takes place at Backstreets Grill, located at 2400 Devine Street in Columbia.
