Columbia, SC – South Carolina senior midfielder Jessica Julin was named to the Soccer America Women’s College Team of the Week following her performance last week in which she scored two goals and added one assist in two Gamecock victories at Charleston Southern and N.C. State. Julin’s goal vs. N.C. State was the game-winner in a 1-0 victory on the road in Raleigh.
Julin’s performance on the field is just one of the reasons USC is 7-2 on the season. Julin has two goals and five assists on the season and has started all nine matches in a central midfielder role. The senior from Tampere, Finland was a first team All-SEC selection in 2002. Julin is tied for second in the SEC in assists with her five assists.
The Gamecocks return to the field on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. at Stone Stadium vs. five-time SEC champion Florida. The game will be broadcast live on the internet at uscsports.com.
