Middle blocker Berna Dwyer is South Carolina’s nominee for the SEC Player of the Week for the week ending Sep. 22. The senior helped lead USC to a 2-0 weekend record. In two matches, the Tucson, Ariz. native had 23 kills and averaged 3.83 kills-per-game with a .452 hitting percentage.

Dwyer led USC to victories over SEC opponent Kentucky as well as Oral Roberts. Dwyer was the only Gamecock to record double figure kills in both matches. The 6-3 senior also moved past her teammate Cally Plummer and moved into the 10th position on USC’s all-time career blocking assist list with 230.
