While it may not be football season, it’s time to think about football seats for many Gamecock Club members. After almost 5,000 one-on-one consultations with football season ticket holders last fall, the Yearly Equitable Seating office has started the seat selection process for the 2009 season.
An all-time high of donors (nearly 3,000) have asked for the opportunity to select new seats through this process. Donors can choose to select their seats in-person at Williams-Brice Stadium, via phone with a YES representative or online at YESDonation.org. Donors who come to the stadium actually have the opportunity to sit in the actual seats they desire before choosing to select.
“The whole experience was very user-friendly and enjoyable. When I thought about changing seats, I thought I would have to go over to the stadium, but the online system was like being there in person. The process was very interactive and the YES staff kept me well informed as to what I needed to do next,” said Tamah Davis.
Appointments are scheduled in 5-minute increments Monday through Friday with each day’s appointments beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m. The appointments are expected to last until late April.
“I think the process was set up very well. It was easily understood and the video on the website did a great job of helping me. I was surprised it was so easy and the options to call or come in made it a very attractive opportunity. The process was as easy as it could’ve possibly been. The communication was very good and I have no complaints,” said Cy Burgess.
“After 20 years of very little improvement in my seating, I was becoming very skeptical that they would ever improve,” said Troy Trussell. “The YES program exceeded my expectations and rejuvenated my enthusiasm for Gamecock football.”
While many current season ticket holders will benefit from the YES program with improved seating, this is also the best time in almost a decade for people to join the Gamecock Club. Approximately 3,500 tickets will be available for Gamecock fans this season. For more information about joining the Gamecock Club, please call 803.777.4276.
The athletics department has contracted with Ballena Technologies Inc. to create the 3-D seating model of the stadium as well as the software for the seat selection process. The Ballena Seats3D product is currently in use at NBA, NHL, NCAA, NFL, MLB and NASCAR facility websites.
