Johnson City, Tenn. – After firing a two-round score of 588 in day one of competition, the University of South Carolina men’s golf team stands in fourth place at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at The Ridges. Tennessee is on top of the leaderboard, followed by Wake Forest and Duke.
Sophomores Alex Hamilton and Martin Rominger led the Gamecocks after posting a two-round score 146 to tie for 14th place. Hamilton blasted a one-under-par 71 in round one, followed by 75 in round two. Rominger was even par after round one and then shot two-over-par 74 in the afternoon.
Tied for 20th were newcomers Spence Andrews, playing as an individual and Eirik Johansen. Andrews and Johansen both shot 147. Michael Maness finished the day in 33rd, while Nash Elliot stands in 71st place.
The final round of the tournament tees-off Sunday, Sept. 15.
