COLUMBIA, S.C. – Pedro Campos from the South Carolina men’s tennis team has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.

Campos won every match he played last week, including singles victories over the first two nationally-ranked opponents he has faced this season. He earned a straight-set win over No. 82 Calin Paar of Nebraska to clinch a 4-3 victory for the Gamecocks. Campos came back against No. 59 Marcel Thiemann of Ole Miss to extend the final two singles contests and propel his singles win streak to 10 matches.

With a pair of doubles wins, Campos and Diego Cubas are now 3-1 against nationally-ranked opponents this season.
