COLUMBIA, S.C. –
South Carolina men’s basketball signee R.J. Slawson (Charleston, S.C./Fort Dorchester High School) has been named the 2009-10 Gatorade South Carolina Boys Basketball Player of the Year. It was announced late last week.

Slawson led his high school squad to the Class 4A quarterfinals and a 22-4 overall record during his senior season. He averaged 22.7 points, 12.4 rebounds, 6.7 blocks and 3.1 assists per game during the 2009-10 campaign.

Slawson is a finalist for the Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year to be announced in late March.
