COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Gamecocks wrap up their spring season on Saturday at the second-annual SEC Coaches Beach Volleyball Championships, held this year in Siesta Key, Fla., as part of a larger collegiate beach weekend.

Last year, the Gamecocks finished second in the commissioner’s cup race, just behind Georgia. The tandem of Petra Lorenzi and Megan Laughlin won the all-terrain title during the event in Gainesville, Fla., while the pairing of Ivana Kujundzic and Dinelia Concepcion finished second in the sliver bracket.

Jordan Bradosky and Hannah Lawing, last year’s semifinalist in the gold bracket, are back as South Carolina’s lone holdover team from a year ago. Rising seniors Kujundzic and Bridget Denson-Dorman will pair, as will Laughlin and rising senior Sarah Cline. The 2008 freshmen class will split into two different groups, with Teresa Stenlund and Olivia Ryder forming one duo and Tory Anderson and Lindsey Roy completing the last.

Also taking place is the Collegiate Beach Volleyball Challenge, with teams from across Florida as well as Notre Dame and Savannah College of Art and Design taking part in the event.

Action starts at 9:30 a.m. on the sand at Siesta Key.
