COLUMBIA, S.C. – George Bryan IV from the South Carolina men’s golf team has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.

Bryan IV came very close to defending his 2008 tournament championship at the Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational this past weekend, finishing second at 212 (-4). The junior from Chapin, S.C., got his third top-10 finish of the season and the ninth of his career after firing a 68 in Sunday’s final round to move up from a tie for 11th to a second-place finish, helping the Gamecocks to the team title, their third of the season. Bryan carded 16 birdies on the weekend, one of the strongest showings of his career.
