COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina women’s basketball team hosted the first Season-Ticket Holder Luncheon of the 2008-09 season today at Colonial Life Arena. The event, which included nearly 100 attendees, was an opportunity for fans to meet and interact with the coaches and players.
During the event, head coach Dawn Staley spoke of her goals and spotlighted the seniors on the team. She talked about the focus of practice, the team’s hard work in recent months and preparing her team for postseason play. She expressed her hope that the seniors on the team – Demetress Adams, Brionna Dickerson and CJ Pace – will have the chance to play in the NCAA Tournament. Fans in attendance were given a pep talk by assistant coach Carla McGhee as she led them in cheers before she introduced the women’s basketball coaching staff and team.

The Gamecocks host Clemson in their home opener on Wed., Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. at Colonial Life Arena.
