COLUMBIA, S.C. – Fresh off its season-opening victory over archrival Clemson, the South Carolina men’s soccer team will host intrastate rival Presbyterian at Stone Stadium on Tuesday. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m. Carolina holds a demanding 10-0 lead in the all-time series between the two schools. Live stats will be available via GamecocksOnline.com.

Carolina defeated Clemson in front of a record crowd of 6,102 at Stone Stadium last Friday. Sophomores Sam Arthur and Blake Brettschneider each picked up a goal and an assist, while goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer collected three saves for his first shutout of the season and the sixth of his Carolina career.

PC dropped a 3-2 decision to Wofford in its season opener last Friday. Presbyterian showed resolve in the contest, erasing a 2-0 halftime deficit to the Terriers to tie the game at 2-2 late in the second half, however, Wofford was able to claim another goal to earn a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the Blue Hose.

Following Tuesday’s matchup with the Blue Hose, Carolina will travel to the Wake Forest Deacon Fall Classic in Winston-Salem, Sept. 5-7. Carolina will be one part of a stellar lineup, as host Wake Forest, UNC and UCLA will take part in the two-day event. South Carolina will face North Carolina (Sept. 5, 5 p.m.) and Wake Forest (Sept. 7, 3:30 p.m.).
