COLUMBIA – Director of athletics Eric Hyman and director of golf Puggy Blackmon accepted a check for $85,000 from the Ben Arnold Company during a time out of Saturday’s football game against Florida. In the third year of the partnership, Ben Arnold donates proceeds from the sale of “Cock ‘N Fire” cabernet and “Head Ball Coach” chardonnay to Carolina Golf.

Conceived in 2005 by Blackmon and Ben Arnold Co. Vice President-Spirits Lloyd Wilber, wine sales have raised in excess of $250,000 for Carolina’s golf and football programs.

“Ben Arnold Company has played a significant and vital role in the success of our golf programs,” Blackmon said. “Thanks to its efforts and generosity, we enjoy a renovated on-campus short game facility, a large conversion van and two minivans.”
