ATHENS, Ga. – The University of South Carolina men’s tennis team continued day two action at the Southern Intercollegiates, hosted by the University of Georgia on Saturday at the Dan Magill Tennis Center. Carolina’s Pedro Campos, seeded 16th in the tournament, posted the most impressive victory on Saturday, defeating third-ranked Marek Sramek of South Alabama (4-6, 5-3, inj. ret.) to advance to Sunday’s quarterfinals.
Campos defeated Jeff Dadamo of Florida, 6-5, 6-2 to advance to the match against Sramek. Also posting victories for the Gamecocks was Johannes Pulsfort who defeated RJ Nagel (USA), 7-6, 4-6, 6-3. Rounding out the Carolina singles victories was Chris Sheehan who defeated Doug Kenny of Georgia Tech, 6-3, 7-6 (3).
In doubles action, Campos and Ivan Cressoni defated Ladyman and Walters of Furman, 9-8.
Action continues on Sunday with consolation play beginning at 8 a.m.
