COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina women’s soccer team is ranked 28th in this week’s Soccer Buzz poll released Tuesday. The Gamecocks (9-4-0, 1-3 SEC) are ranked for the sixth consecutive week after defeating Kentucky, 2-0, and dropping a 1-0 decision to Vanderbilt in double-overtime last week.
South Carolina and Tennessee are the only Southeastern Conference schools to make an appearance in the national polls each of the past six weeks.
In addition to the national ranking, the Gamecocks are ranked No. 7 in both the NSCAA Southeast region poll and the Soccer Buzz Southeast region poll.
No. 28 South Carolina returns to the road for a trip to the Magnolia State. The Gamecocks will take on Mississippi State (5-7-0; 1-3-0 SEC) Friday at 8 p.m. EST and conclude with a date at Ole Miss (6-3-3; 3-0-1 SEC) Sunday at 2 p.m.
