TAMPA, FL – South Carolina forward Darcel Mollon has been named to the W-League All-Conference Team for the second consecutive season, as voted on by team coaches and general managers of the 35-club W-League of the United Soccer Leagues.

Mollon, a senior from Chauganas, Trinidad, was named to the All-Central Conference team after playing the 2007 season for the Charlotte Lady Eagles. She scored three goals and four assists for ten points in 11 games played. Mollon will return to the Gamecocks this season after missing the 2006 campaign with injuries. In 2005, she led the Gamecocks in scoring with five goals and four assists for 14 points on the year.

The USL W-League is a competitive women’s soccer league in the US and Canada. The 2007 season features a 35-team format in three conferences playing 12 or 14 regular season matches. The top women’s players throughout the world compete in the USL W-League through the summer months. In addition to the league featuring international and former professional stars, elite collegiate players have the opportunity to also compete in the league while maintaining their collegiate eligibility. The league is recognized throughout the world for providing elite competition for women’s players, while providing affordable family entertainment to many fans in each of the team locations. Carolina head coach Shelley Smith was a past member of the USL W-League with the Boston Renegades.
