Atlanta, Ga. – On the eve of the first round of the SEC Tournament, the SEC Coaches have spoken. Senior point guard Tre’ Kelley was named to the Coaches All-SEC first team on a unanimous vote and freshman-redshirt Dominique Archie was honored on the SEC All-Freshman team.

Kelley and Brandon Wallace were named on Tuesday to the AP All-SEC team with Kelley picking up first team honors and Wallace being named Honorable Mention.

Kelley is the first Gamecock to be named to the Coaches All-SEC first team since BJ McKie was named in 1998. Kelley joins McKie as on of just three Gamecocks to be named to the AP and Coaches All-SEC first teams in the same season. McKie was voted to the first team in both 1997 and ’98. Larry Davis was named to both in 1997 as well.

Archie was the first Gamecock to be named to the All-SEC Freshman team since 2004 when Renaldo Balkman received the honor. Balkman went on to be an NBA first round draft pick by the New York Knicks in 2006 after his junior year.

“Tre’ is very deserving of this honor and it’s outstanding to see the SEC Coaches acknowledge his very fine play this season,” said USC Head Coach Dave Odom. “I am just as proud of Dominique Archie. He worked hard last season during his redshirt year and the dedication paid off. I am glad the SEC coaches recognized the good work by both these players.”
