CHARLOTTE, N.C.– University of South Carolina associate head golf coach Bill McDonald competed against the world’s best golfers Thursday and Friday in the PGA TOUR’S Wachovia Championship, played at Quail Hollow Country Club Charlotte, N.C.

McDonald, who earned a spot in the event on March 19 after tying for first among a 47-player field in a Section Qualifier for the Carolina PGA, fired identical rounds of 79 (+7) the last two days, but did not make the cut for the weekend.

McDonald and the Gamecock men’s golf team will find out if they are selected to the NCAA Regional field on Monday, May 7. Bids will be announced at 6 p.m. ET online at NCAAsports.com.
