The University of South Carolina men’s golf team ended the 2006-07 season ranked in the top 15 nationally. The Gamecocks finished in a tie for 11th in the final Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches Poll after a strong postseason performance.

Six Southeastern Conference teams appear in the poll, including four among the top 15.

For the first time in school history, South Carolina won a regional team title, finishing 44 strokes under par at the NCAA West Regional in Tempe, Ariz. The Gamecocks advanced on the NCAA Championship in Williamsburg, Va., where they placed in a tie for 11th. It was the best showing for the Carolina golf team since also tying for 11th in 1998. The 2006-07 squad had no seniors and only two juniors on the 12-man roster.
