USC announced Tuesday only 1500 tickets remain for the South Carolina-Kansas hardwood battle on Sun., Jan. 7. The 4:30 pm game at the Colonial Center will put USC’s three-game winning streak against top 10 teams on the line. The Jayhawks, 12-2, are ranked No. 9.
Fans can buy tickets at the Colonial Center ticket office, www.uscsports.com or 1-800-4SC-FANS.
“This is a huge game for us,” said South Carolina native Brandon Wallace, Carolina’s leading rebounder this season. “We know what a loud Colonial Center can do to the opponent so we hope everyone will come out and support the Gamecocks!”
Last time USC saw KU, the Gamecocks fell 64-60, on Dec. 18, 2004 in storied Allen Fieldhouse when the Jayhawks were ranked No. 2 nationally.
Kansas has an 82-80 Nov. 25 win over then-No. 1 Florida on its resume this season, handing the Gators their first loss since winning the 2006 NCAA title. The Jayhawks have won six straight and played in the NCAA Tournament last year after winning the Big 12 Conference.
