Each week during the remainder of the 2006 season, uscsports.com features Q-and-A sessions with members of the Gamecock volleyball team. Freshman outside hitter Meredith Moorhead provided today’s answers. Moorhead is averaging 1.35 kills per game this season and has appeared in 19 matches.
Nicknames: I don’t really have one, but some of my friends call me “Merbear.”
I wear number 13 because: Everyone gives it a bad name and I felt sorry for it.

Person in history you would like to meet: Jesus
First thing you would do if you were head coach for a day: Have the team play in a beach volleyball tournament
Person you would most like to trade places with for a day: Angelina Jolie because being with Brad Pitt for a day would most likely complete my life!
People who has most influenced your athletic career: Zoe Bell, my high school coach, and Jen Adeeva and Rick Kiser, my club coaches
Most memorable moment in athletics: My junior year, winning the state semifinals against Riverside (Megan Hodge’s school); It was an amazing game that I will never forget.
Best player you have ever faced: Megan Hodge, the No. 1 recruit in my age group
Craziest ambition: In elementary school, I thought I would play in the WNBA, but basketball never worked out.
One thing you wish you were better at: I wish I could sing. I sing all the time, but I know everyone wants me to shut up.
Favorite sport besides volleyball: Tennis
One possession you would keep if you lost all but one: Photo albums
Team you would most like to see added to the schedule: Virginia Tech, North Florida or West Virginia so I could play against my old club teammates

A place I have always wanted to visit but never had the chance is: Hawaii
My dream job would be: Being a professional beach volleyball player!
Why did you choose to attend USC? The coaches are awesome and the girls are great. South Carolina is also GORGEOUS and close to home.
