Columbia, SC – Come one, come all to the Carolina Basketball Block Party!

Thurs., Nov. 9 the Carolina Athletics Department will host a Basketball Block Party Jam from 11 am to 1 pm. There will be free food, drinks, games and prizes. USC Students can sign up to participate in a three point contest for great prizes, including Gamecock gear and tickets to Colonial Center events. Both the Carolina Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams will be in attendance as well as everyone’s favorite mascot, Cocky.

The Men’s Basketball team opens the season on Friday November 10 at 7:30 pm at the Colonial Center when they take on the Bulldogs of South Carolina State.

On Sunday November 12 the Women’s Basketball team kicks off its season with a match up against East Tennessee State at 3pm.

Gamecock Basketball Block Party

Thursday, November 9th, 2006 in front of the Russell House University Union from 11:00am to 1:00pm to get South Carolina students excited about the upcoming basketball season.

Appearances by the men’s and women’s basketball players.

Free food courtesy of Domino’s and free drinks will be coming on the Vault Truck courtesy of Coca Cola.

Giveaways such as Gamecock basketball posters, schedule cards and t-shirts.

Premium Gamecock prizes that can be won in the student 3-point contest and other games.

Music provided by DJ.

The bookstore will be out selling from their tent at the event.

Appearances by Cocky and cheerleaders.
