——————————————————————————————————————————– Last night was one to remember, because we made Gamecock history. For the first time in our school’s history, the USC women’s soccer team advanced in the SEC Tournament. Our game against Vanderbilt was pretty close, it was clear that both teams wanted to win. Luckily, after officially tying the game, our goalkeeper Laura Armstrong saved Vandy’s first penalty kick, then made one of her own. Our team scored all of our PK’s, and Laura went on to save another, giving us the game. We all sprinted to Laura after her final save; and tackled her. I am pretty sure I have never run that fast, screamed so loud, or been that excited in my life, and I definitely have NO voice left this morning.
Since we pulled out a win, Stephano did the shoulder lean, (for all who don’t know the “shoulder lean,” it is a dance in which our team circles around our trainer Stephanie Roseheart, and sing the “shoulder lean” song while she break dances in the middle). Nigel called to congratulate us on our win, which was great; we always love hearing from him! The sun is shining and we are off to practice. We have another fun day ahead at Orange Beach!
GO GAMECOCKS!!!
