Julian Whitehead

Julian Whitehead joined the Gamecocks’ staff in January 2020 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. Whitehead worked with head strength and conditioning coach Paul Jackson at Ole Miss from 2016-19. He had prior stops at Middle Tennessee State, Kent State and at a private training facility in Atlanta.
 
Whitehead is a former member of the Ole Miss football team, where he was a two-time letterwinner as a defensive back and earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2011. He then finished his playing career at Murray State University where he was also a two-time letterwinner at defensive back and earned his master’s degree in human development and leadership in the fall of 2012.
 
A native of Stone Mountain, Ga., Whitehead is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting (USAW) and a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
