COLUMBIA, SC –
The University of South Carolina women’s basketball team will visit the South Carolina State House Tuesday at noon to accept congratulations from the General Assembly on its highly-successful 2001-2002 season.
The Gamecocks will appear on the House side first and then walk over to visit the Senate.
South Carolina finished the season with a 25-7 record and a second-place finish in the Southeastern Conference. USC was ranked for the first time in 11 years and finished the season at number six in the country. The Gamecocks also advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 11 years and made it to the “Elite Eight.”
