Post Game Coaches Quotes
South Carolina vs. UNLV
NIT, 2nd Round
3/22/05
Colonial Center, Columbia, SC
Dave Odom, South Carolina: “For the first 33 minutes of the game, we played as well as we had in a long time. I thought we really shared the ball extremely well. When they made their runs, we made some clutch baskets. Brandon Wallace had his best game in a long time. Rocky Trice gets the ball to the rim and played well. The first 15 minutes of the game, our defense was as good as it’s been in a while. It looked like we had them unsettled. We continue to have problems closing games out. We must improve on that. I appreciate the confidence the NIT has shown in our team. They have awarded us with a third straight home game. In this tournament, that is extremely important. Now, it is important that we get some rest and get ready for a very good Georgetown team here Thursday night.”
Lon Kruger, UNLV: “Congratulations to Dave and his squad. They got after it right from the start. We made a run half way through the second half but it didn’t scare them that much. The way we played tonight wasn’t like how we played the last six weeks. South Carolina had something to do with that… We just didn’t handle their traps very well. We didn’t handle their pressure very well and we got flustered a little bit. Again our hats off to South Carolina.”
