In a home meet the South Carolina Gamecocks defeated the College of Charleston Cougars 569.5 to 517.5. The Gamecocks dominated in both portions of the competition. In equitation on the flat, South Carolina led by 33 points with a score of 289.5 to Charleston’s 256.5. At the end of the jumping portion, South Carolina led once again with a score of 280 to Charleston’s 261.

Freshmen Kristen Terebesi was named the point spread winner in equitation on the flat. She beat her opponent, Julia Nickles, by 19 points with scores of 78 to 59. Sophmore Kelley Campbell earned the highest point spread in equitation over fences by besting her opponent, Drew Coster, by 20 points.

“The first part of the competition went really well for us. With us already leading in equitation, we had some cushion going into the jumping part,” said Sophmore Kelley Campbell. “I’m really proud of our whole team and the outcome of today.”

The Gamecocks will travel to Lexington, KY Saturday, March 26th to compete against the Kentucky Wildcats.
