Columbia, S.C.– Tuesday night’s Gamecock Rally, hosted by the Columbia Regional Sports Council, will be held for the first time at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center located at 1101 Lincoln Street in the Congaree Vista. The final Gamecock Rally of the season will get fans excited leading up to the USC vs. Kentucky men’s basketball game that tips-off at 9 p.m. next door at the Colonial Center.

FREE and open to the public, the rally will start at 6:00 pm with headline band Papa-Sol, a powerful band featuring lively floor shows and danceable pop or soul. Their repertoire also contains a bit of funk, reggae, country, blues, jazz, beach, and good old rock & roll. At 7:00, the USC Cheerleaders, Pep Band, Cocky and the Dance Team will get your spirits up, then at 7:30 pm Papa-Sol will take the stage once again until 8:30 pm. Attendees may purchase food and beverages, and exhibitors will also be on hand.

A silent auction will be held for two pairs of Clubhouse Badges to the 2005 MCI Heritage, to be played April 11-17, 2005 at Hilton Head Island.

This series of events is sponsored by Budweiser of Columbia, Coca-Cola, Nexsen Pruet, Centerplate, and First Citizens. Proceeds from beverage sales will benefit Scholarships for City of Columbia, Richland & Lexington County After-School Youth Recreation Programs, The Columbia Regional Sports Council Scholarship Fund, The USC College of Hospitality, Retail & Sports Management Scholarship Fund, and The USC Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.

The event is hosted by The Columbia Regional Sports Council and our event partners include The Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, B-106.7-FM and WIS-TV.
