Sydney Hess

Sydney Hess comes to Carolina after a running career at the University of Cincinnati. Hess was honored on the Dean’s List, Bearcat Honor Roll and was a Top Cat academically at Cincinnati for earning a 4.0 GPA. She was honored with the Bearcat Strong Award for being an outstanding student-athlete on and off the field.

Hess joins a long list of athletes in her family. Her father, Donald, played football at Toledo. Her sister, Haley, ran cross country and track at Akron and another sister, Hannah, played basketball at Purdue Fort Wayne.

Hess plans to earn her Masters of Science in Environmental Health Science. She decided to come to Carolina because she was excited about the opportunity to continue her education and remain a part of the athletic community. She is excited to help fellow Division I athletes make the most of their careers.
