Dave Odom quotes: “Five straight games … none decided by less than four points. We’ve won three, lost two. We played a South Carolina State team that is much improved. Ben Betts is a very good coach and does a great job with his team. Their team, their fans, and their University should be proud. They could have won this game. If they were rusty, their mental approach overcame that. Maybe we will learn something from it. Tarence Kinsey stepped up. He hit some big shots. Typically, we press more than we did, but we didn’t have our legs. We need to develop our back up point guard position.”

Ben Betts: “I thought our guys played very hard, very well. I thought we did a well enough job on the defensive end, but the first part of overtime, we didn’t execute… I will say that I’m very proud of our guys. …I thought once again our guys did a good job in our full court pressure…they did a heck of a job with their defense…I thought we had the best practice of our year yesterday. Coming off that, I thought we played well. We came up a little sort. Now we have to pull of this.”
