COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina junior golfer Eirik Johansen carded his fourth-straight sub-par round (71), but was unable to hold onto the individual lead and settled for a third-place finish at the International European Amateur Championship in Skovde, Sweden. The 72-hole tournament was played at the par-72, 6,215-yard Skovde Golf Club.

Johansen’s final round included four birdies, as he made the turn at 2-under-par, 34, before finishing with a 37 on the back nine for a 1-under-par, 71. That gave the Stavanger, Norway, native a 72-hole total of 13-under-par, 70-64-70-71–275. England’s Matthew Richardson finished with a flurry of birdies and a score of 5-under-par, 31 on the back nine to capture medalist honors at 15-under-par, 68-68-69-68–273.
Gamecock junior Robert Svensson finished the tournament tied for 70th at 71-73-74-78–296, while South Carolina’s Martin Rominger was 73rd at 72-74-72-83–301.
