OPELIKA, ALA. – South Carolina senior women’s golfer Adrienne Gautreaux has moved into a tie for eighth place at 1-under-par with six holes left in her second round as play was suspended on day two of the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship in Opelika, Ala. The 72-hole event is being contested at the par-72, 6,214-yard Grand National Lake Course. Thunderstorms forced play to be halted at 6:45 ET on Wednesday.

Gautreaux, who is one of ten players tied for eighth place, opened her day with two-straight bogeys, but then bounced back to record a trio of birdies on holes four through six, before recording a bogey on the par-three eighth hole to finish the outward nine at even-par, 36. After two pars to begin the back nine, Gautreaux had just eagled the par-five 12th hole when play was suspended. Susie Mathews of UCLA is the leader in the clubhouse as she carded a 3-under-par, 69 on Wednesday to stand at 4-under-par, 71-69-140 through 36 holes.
