OPELIKA, ALA. – South Carolina senior women’s golfer Adrienne Gautreaux was unable to carry her momentum from the second round into the third round and is now tied for 37th place after 54 holes of play at the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship in Opelika, Ala. The 72-hole event is being contested at the par-72, 6,215-yard Grand National Lake Course.
Gautreaux, opened the third day of competition by completing her second round after play was suspended by thunderstorms on Wednesday afternoon. The Mabank, Texas, native finished with an even-par 72 in the second round, but struggled over her final 18 holes of the day, shooting a 78 to stand at 73-72-78-223. She is tied with 11 other players in 37th place. Susie Mathews of UCLA (71-69-68-208) and Karin Sjodin of Oklahoma State (71-69-68-208) are tied for the individual lead at 8-under-par, 208.
The NCAA Championship will conclude on Friday with the final round of play. Gautreaux will start her final round at 8:50 a.m. CT on the first tee. Full tournament results and live scoring of the event are available at www.golfstatlive.com.
