COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Men’s Tennis team will host the South Carolina Fall Invitational this weekend beginning on Friday, October 15 and concluding Sunday, October 17. The first match of each day is scheduled to begin at 8 am. The 2004 Invitational has 31 teams scheduled to compete, including the Gamecocks, in six singles draws and six doubles draws, with action slated for four different facilities. The Sam Daniel Tennis Facility will host both a singles and a doubles bracket. The Columbia Tennis Center will host three singles draws and three doubles draws. The Maxcy-Gregg tennis facility and the USC Indoor courts will each hold one singles and one doubles tournament.
The Gamecocks will have six players competing throughout the different brackets including Tom Eklund and Jamie Cuellar, seeded second and seventh respectively in the top singles draw, who will team up in the top doubles draw as well. The duo is seeded second in the bracket. Rob Cassidy and Thomas Stoddard are the fourth seeded team in the second doubles draw. All Gamecock participants will be playing at the Sam Daniel Tennis Facility, located next to Sarge Frye Field, or at the Columbia Tennis Center located at the end of Whaley Street.
