Columbia,S.C. – The University of South Carolina equestrian team will have four riders competing at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Championships to be held in Murfreesboro, Tenn on May 6-9. The competitions will begin at 8 a.m. starting Thursday and will go throughout the weekend. The riders qualified for Nationals in Rome,Ga. competition on April 3-4 at the Varsity Equestrian Championships.

Among those qualifying for this weekend’s trip to Tennesssee are junior Tara Brothers, senior Lindsay Wilson, freshman Rachel Sternoff and senior Kyra Hufford. Brothers will be the first to compete on Thursday. She qualified for Individual Open Over Fences as well as the Cacchione Cup. Wilson qualified for Individual Intermediate Hunt Seat On Flat , which will be held on Saturday. Sternoff qualified for Open Horsemanship, she will also compete on Saturday. Hufford qualified for Individual Walk/Trot/Canter, which will be held on Friday.

This will be the Gamecocks last competition of the season. They concluded team competitions by finishing sixth out of twelve teams at the Varsity Equestrian Championships on April 23-24. The team co-hosted the event with Auburn and Georgia.
